Hermit Crab Care Tips

Hermit crabs are unique and rewarding pets. Here's what you need to know to keep them healthy and happy:

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Maintain a tank temperature of 72–82°F and humidity between 70–80%. These conditions mimic their natural tropical habitat and are essential for survival.

🐚 Shell Selection

Always provide extra shells in various sizes. Hermit crabs change shells as they grow, and having options reduces stress and fighting between crabs.

🪨 Deep Substrate

Provide at least 6 inches of moist sand or coconut fiber substrate so your hermit crabs can molt safely underground without being disturbed.

🥗 Varied Diet

Hermit crabs are omnivores. Offer a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, protein sources, and commercial hermit crab food. Avoid salt, preservatives, and copper sulfate.
